self catering cottage on Torsa Island
We are very pleased to be able
to offer the ultimate "island holiday experience". Lying
parallel to Luing is the peaceful island of Torsa, home only to
wildlife, the ruined "Castle of the Dogs" and a secluded
farmhouse. The house is perfectly located at the sheltered south
end of the island, overlooking the safe anchorage of Ardinamir Bay,
Shuna Sound and Loch Melfort.
The farmhouse offers one double
bedroom, one twin bedroom and a single bedroom, sitting room with
open fire, kitchen, lobby and bathroom. A recent addition is a conservatory
with panoramic views to the south. The house is surrounded by walled
gardens of approximately half an acre.
Although remote, the house
is well equipped, and has mains electricity and receives mobile
phone reception. Your holiday includes use of a boat and mooring,
and when you are welcomed to the island you will be given a lesson
in their use. You are also welcome to bring your own small to medium
sized boat to use for exploring the area.
Access to Torsa is from Ardinamir
Bay on the Isle of Luing (see our location).
Parking is available at Ardinamir and access to Torsa is by boat
at all states of the tide.
Dogs are welcome, but must
be kept under control as the island is often grazed by sheep and
cattle.
